Reform of Electoral system and Coalition Government in New Zealand
【Abstract】In democratic system, the political process and the formation of government are influenced by the electoral systems. New Zealand government was characterized the category of Westminster government，the single-party majority Government under the First-Past-the Post electoral system ( FFP). By contrast，while New Zealand adopted the reform of electoral system from the Majoritarian system to the Mixed Member Proportional system ( MMP)，it produced a new formation of government，multi-party coalition government. Now New Zealand has delivered a more inclusive，consultative，compatible and consensual democracy. New Zealand is only the county that it not only had successfully introduced the Anglo-American model of Majoritarian democracy，but also has smoothly transformed into the European model of Consensual Democracy during its democratization and the development of democracy. So the good case of New Zealand is meaningful to us because it could provide us a special perspective to understand the diversity of democracy，especially the consensual democracy.
