Electrode Process of Lithium Ions on Aluminum Electrode in Molten LiCl-KCl

The formation of α-solid solution was controlled by the diffusion of lithium within the aluminium substance. The formation of β-LiAl alloy was limited by the rate of forming the alloy at the legining, and by diffiusion of lithium through the β- LiAl alloy layer was limited by the rate of forming the alloy at the begining, and by the diffusion of lithium through the β-LiAl alloy later. Neucleation polarization for the formation of β-LiAl alloy was observed. This polarization is an instantaneaus process. There are a Limiting charging patential and a charging current for the LiAl alloy anode.
