This article reanalyzes Kafka＇ s novel The Trial from the theological perspective, by compa- ring with America and The Castle the author of this article believes the original sin involved in The Trial is mainly Christian rather than Jewish. By depicting his own life experience and with the implied Christian structure of ＂original sin - suffering - redemption＂ Kafka reveals the existence situation of the human beings in modern society unfolded in the logic route of ＂original sin＂ which is familiar to Western society： K bears the original sin, born with him; his tough defense course （false love, absurd justice, degenerated arts） symbolizes the fate of exiled human beings, their sufferings and atonement; his dialogue with the priest and his eventual acceptance of death suggests the final judgment and redemption. From this perspec- tive, we can feel Kafka, as one of human beings living in modern society, trying to fight against the preva- lent value nihilism by rebuilding the intimate and harmonious relationship with God.
