Choice between Curriculum and Discipline: Review of the Development of National Defense Education at Colleges and Universities

如何才能在大学站稳脚跟并获得一个稳定发展地位,是我国高校国防教育长期以来面临的一个核心议题。围绕这一问题产生了两种观点,即课程路线和学科路线。前者把高校国防教育作为一门课程来建设,后者则以创建高校国防教育独立学科为目标。两种观点虽然不乏交集,但在视野和立场上存在着诸多分歧。长远来看,高校国防教育发展模式应该是多元的、互补的、融合的,如此才能使高校国防教育发展既具有战略视野,也有具体的操作战术。How to secure a firm foothold at university and achieve a stable development status has been the core issue of national defense education in China for a long time. Around this question two views have evolved - the curriculum path and the discipline path. The former regards national defense education at colleges and universities as a course to be built, while the latter aims to create an independent discipline for national defense education at colleges and universities. Although the two views converge to some extent, there are many differences in vision and stance. In the long run, the development models of national defense education at colleges and universities should be diverse, mutually complementary and integrated in order to endow this particular education a strategic vision and specific operational tactics.
