Abstract
The epitaph of Li Mohulu,a Persian living in the Tang Dynasty unearthed in Yangzhou recorded that the name of the father of the epitaph's master is Luohulu, which proved that the name of Master Hulu,a Manichaean preacher in the Tang Dynasty, would be from Persian language. The maiden family name of Li Mohulu's wife is Mu,showing that she might be from the Mu State(Merv)in the Central Asia. His nephew's name is Paihui, which might be“Pahlavi”in Persian. This epitaph reflected the Sinicization history of the Persian people in the Tang Dynasty and indicated the location of the cemetery of the Central and West Asian people in Yangzhou during the Tang and Song Dynasties.
