The Identity in FU Si- niens Literary Thoughts around the May Forth Movement and Its Dilemma

“五四”时期傅斯年的文论中流露出自信的设计者的身份认同,这表现在他面对诸如汉字、戏剧、拼音文字、白话文等文学与文化命题时,热衷于以列条目的量化形式,来评说、设计、指导、解决这些很难进行量化的对象。然而,留学英国前夕的傅斯年却由设计者急遽转变为一个彷徨者,流露出思想上的“自我颠覆”,而这正是其思想困境的表征,在于主体“灵魂的分裂”所导致的深沉的矛盾。历史不允许傅斯年站在一种理论的边缘交汇处彷徨流连,而是要求他坚定地站在新文学观的中心处,从而导致他的文学思想始终被时代主流话语所宰制,正因此,当他制造出带有鲜明“修辞特征”的“权力话语”时,这种话语在未曾规范整个社会之前,已率先压抑了或消解了他自身的深层“趣味”。这正是傅斯年文学思想的一个命定性困境。During the May Forth Movement, FU Si - nien＇ s essays revealed the identity of a confident designer. For example, he tended to adopt Quantization Method to solve some literature and culture problems which were usually unquantifiable. Nevertheless, before studying in Britain, FU had an ideological self- subversion from a designer to an uncertain wanderer. This is the representation of the dilemma in his literary thoughts, which consisted in deep contradiction caused by the subject＇ s soul spiting. History did not allow FU to stand and linger at the edge of intersection of theories, but demanded him to sit at the limelight of new literary theory, which led to his literature thoughts dominated by mainstream discourses. Therefore, when he created authoritative discourses with distinctive rhetoric features, this kind of discourses, before regulating the whole society, has initially suppressed, or slackened his own profound interests. This is one of determinism dilemma of FU＇ s literary thoughts.
