Lu Jiuyuan and Wang Yangming were the quintessential figures of the philosophy of the mind of Neo- Confucianism. Later scholars often put their names together and combine their thought theories into the ＂Learning of Lu and Wang＂. Their ideological purposes were close, but there was no direct inheritance relationship between them. Nevertheless, there was a deeper thought inheritance relationship between the emergence and development of Yangmingism and Zhuism. The emergence and development of Yangmingism were deeply rooted in the thoughts of Zhuism. Under the influence of Zhuism, Wang Yangming inherited the classic system and theoretical framework created by Zhu Xi and his main viewpoints, incorporated the wisdom of Buddhism and Taoism, and gained insights through contemplation and criticism, eventually forming Yangmingism. As such, Yangmingism can be considered to be an extension and growth of Zhuism during the Ming Dynasty. Wang Yangming＇s A Summary of Zhu Xi＇s Later Years in Life originated from Zhuism＇s internal logical thinking of reconciling Zhu and Lu, providing us with a specific example for the observation of the thought inheritance relationship between Yangmingism and Zhuism.
