"Confucianism" and Nationalitization: The Path to the Exploration of the Sinicization of Modern Political Parties

Traditional Confucianism contained no genes for the growth of modern parties. On the contrary, it hindered the normal occurrence of modern factors of political parties to some extent. Exhibiting obvious external characteristics, mod- em Chinese political parties were mainly the product of the spread of Western studies to the East. The most pressing issue facing the parties after acculturation was their sinicization. In a bid to promote the identification of Confucianism in China＇s national construction, the Kuomintang carried out an experiment with ＂Confucianism＂, only to become the very opposite of itself. In comparison, the Chinese Communist Party remained focused on the realistic requirements of China＇s national con- ditions and the objective mission of modern political parties ; it set out to establish a national subject position for the Chinese people, embarking on the road to nationalization and opening up a path to the sinicization of political parties. The develop- ment history of both parties proved that ＂Confucianism＂ is not a solution to the problem of sinicization of political parties, and that no party could build its legitimacy foundation without being rooted in Chinese reality, relying on national entities, tapping the potential of the people, and solving practical problems.
