CutA Divalent Cation Tolerance Homolog (Escherichia coli) (CUTA) Regulates beta-Cleavage of beta-Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) through Interacting with beta-Site APP Cleaving Protein 1 (BACE1)

Background: The function of the CutA divalent cation tolerance homolog (Escherichia coli) (CUTA) is largely unknown. Results: CUTA has several isoforms, and the longest interacts with BACE1, regulates intracellular trafficking of BACE1, and affects A beta generation. Conclusion: CUTA is a novel BACE1-interacting protein and regulates the beta-cleavage of APP. Significance: CUTA may play a role in Alzheimer disease.
