Cultural Regimen in Zhuxi's Neo-Confucianism and Its Modern Significance
“理学文化养生”这个命题包含着两层基本涵义:一是标志着理学文化本身存在着养生的思想资源;二是标志着理学文化可以转换为养生方法,生发养生功能。朱熹在建构其庞大的理学体系时,也利用治学求知、道德修养和成就圣贤的生活样式来保持身心健康、修身养性、安身立命。朱熹理学文化养生的思想原则与操作方法在现代社会中依然具有积极意义,认真发掘其优秀成分,可以为现代文化建设与养生活动提供借鉴。The proposition of “cultural regimen of Neo-Confucianism" contains two basic meanings: one indicates that there are theoretical resources concerning regimen in Neo-Confucianism; the other implies that the way of regimen is embedded in Neo-Confucianism through which its function is developed. When constructing the huge system of Neo-Confucianism, Zhuxi followed a life style to keep body and mind fit, cultivate mind and carry on his lifelong pursuit. Such a life style was achieved through pursuing studies, cultivating morality and becoming saints. The principle of his thought is: seeking inner peace, paying respect to others and following natural rules. The principles and rules of the cultural regimen in Zhuxi's Neo-Confucianism still play a positive role in the modern society. It is worthwhile to explore the positive aspects of the cultural regimen in Zhuxi's Neo-Confucianism and apply them to modern cultural construction and regimen activities.
