At the end of the Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644) and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty(1644-1911), tens of thousands of migrants from Fujian moved into Taiwan and finally settled down. These migrants who gradually became a main force kept and spread Fujian culture that was brought with them. Thus the culture which shared similarity with that of Fujian came into being. By discussing Confucianism, religions and beliefs among the people, the article demonstrates that Fujian culture, elite culture or mass culture, has maintained the original contents throughout the process of their spread in Taiwan. Culture has become a kind of powerful language which links the people across the straits closely. Fujian culture and Taiwan culture are of the same origin. Taiwan culture comes from Fujian culture which is a part of Chinese culture. This shows that Taiwan can never be separated from Fujian and China's mainland.
