The Disyllabic Tone Sandhi in Hakka of the Shangrao Region in Raoping County, Guangdong Province

饶平上饶客家话是通行于粤东饶平县内北部地区的一种客家话,它跟以梅州话为代表的客家话有很大的不同,在声调的连读变调方面尤具特色。本文通过记录大量两字连读变调的例句,揭示饶平上饶客家话两字连读变调的面貌。Hakka of the Shangrao region is a special variant of Hakka spoken in the northern part of Raoping County, the easternmost part of Guangdong Province. It differs significantly from the Hakka with the Meixian Dialect as its representative. The most outstanding characteristic of Raoping Hakka is its tone sandhi system. By analyzing large number example utterances containing disyllabic words or phrases, this article discloses the patterns of disyllabic tone sandhi of Raoping Hakka. With the author himself as a native speaker and phonetic informant, the data of this article is first-hand and of high reliability.
