Since the end of the Qing Dynasty, the problem of dual nationality of the overseas Chinese has been complicated. After the Second World War, some conflicts occurred between it and the nationalism in Southeast Asia, which had been inspired through anti-colonization struggles for independence. Relatively speaking, the problem of dual nationality of the Overseas Chinese was settled without much trouble in Burma. This could be attributed to several factors, such as the amicability of Sino-Burmese relation in 1950s, the admission of the Chinese identity of a large number of half-blooded Chinese and local-born Chinese beyond two generations by the Burmese government and the sincerity and determination of the Chinese government to solve it.
