LOCAL PHOTOCURRENT CHARACTERISTICS OF LEAD-OXIDE FILMS IN ACID-SOLUTION AND AN OPTICAL STORAGE PHENOMENON

Local photoelectrochemical characteristics of lead oxide films in acid solution at different potentials have been investigated using in situ photoelectrochemical microscopy (PEM). It is found that the distribution of lead oxide at lead electrodes is potential-dependent, especially after being exposed to a laser beam. In addition, based on a novel ''photoelectrochemical'' mode, an ''optical storage'' concept was demonstrated. Some characters were successfully written on lead oxide films using a laser-scanning technique.
