Application of iron-tetrasulfonatophythalocyanine as a mimetic peroxidase to the determination of hydrogen peroxide and glucose

Iron( III) - tetrasulfonatophthalocyanine ( FeTSPc) has been synthesized and used as a mimetic peroxidase to the determination of hydrogen peroxide and glucose based on its catalytic effect on the oxidation reaction of L-tyrosine by hydrogen peroxide. Under optimum conditions, the calibration graphs for the determination of hydrogen peroxide and glucose were linear over the ranges of 0.0 similar to 8.0 x 10(-5) mol/L H2O2 and 0.0 similar to 2.0 x 10(-4) mol/L glucose, with detection limit of 5.0 x 10(-8) mol/L H2O2 and 6.0 x 10(-8) mol/L glucose, respectively. Satisfactory results were obtained when the proposed method coupled with the catalysis of glucose oxidase was adopted in the determination of glucose in human sera.
