The template fabrication and application of platinum nanoelectrode arrays

A novel method to fabricate an array of Pt nanoelectrodes by means of the porous alumina template was investigated. To evaluate the nanoelectrode arrays, linear sweep voltammetry in Fe(CN)(6)(4-) solution was performed and a sigmoidal shaped voltammogram was obtained. The electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol at the army of Pt nanoelectrodes was also studied. The results showed that the array exhibited high electrocatalytic activity in the oxidation of methanol. In situ Surface-enhanced Raman scattering spectra were measured for the reaction and the linearly absorbed CO species as the intermediates in the methanol electro-oxidation were detected.
