Abstract
Two complexes, namely, Mn(FDC)(H(2)O)(3) (1) and [H(2)N(CH(3))(2)](2)center dot[Mn(3)(FDC)(4)]center dot 2DMF center dot H(2)O (2) (H2 FDC = Furan-2,5-dicarboxylic acid), were synthesized via the solvothermal reaction of manganese(H) chloride and furan-2,5-dicarboxylate acid under different solvent conditions. Single-crystal analysis reveals that one-dimensional complex 1 was obtained when the reaction was carried out in DMF/H(2)O, while three-dimensional complex 2 was synthesized when the reaction was carried out in DMF. Variable-temperature magnetic measurements and Quantum Monte Carlo(QMC) simulation indicate that both the complexes exhibit antiferromagnetic characteristic.
