Most major Jewish American novelists including Saul Bellow and I.B.Singer represent the Holocaust memory in their fiction in one of six ways. They either directly describe the Holocaust and its aftermath,or focus on the memories of survivors or their children, represent the organizations or individuals helping Jews escape, the trial of Nazi criminals, the rage and redemption of survivors children,or rewrite Holocaust classics. These different ways of remembering history demonstrate the profound historical consciousness of comtemporary American writers.zh_CN
