Abstract
The crystal structure of cytochalasin D, which was isolated from Tubercularia sp., a novel endophytic fungus of Taxus mairei, and cocrystallized with dimethyl sulfoxide, is reported. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1), with a = 7.583(6) Angstrom, b = 11.053(10) Angstrom, c = 18.632(10) Angstrom, beta = 95.79(6)degrees, V = 1553.6(3) Angstrom(3), Z = 2. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least-squares methods to a final R factor of 0.103 for 2937 independent reflections.
