Abstract

Y 2O 3-LaF 3 catalysts,especially Y 2O 3-LaF 3(1:3 in molar) show very high ethylene selectivity For the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane.The change of the binding energies of La3d 5/2 and Y3d 5/2 in Y 2O 3-LaF 3 series catalysts show that Y 2O 3 and LaF 3 might interact with each other.The Formation of structure deFects such as O - and/or anionic vacancies as well as the isolation Function of LaF 3 in Y 2O 3 might responsible For the high ethylene selecrivity.
